Cycling, whether it’s a day to day activity, or an occasional adventure, is a great way to help keep you and your family healthy.

Here are some fantastic cycling opportunities this summer:

Bike Hire Now Available – Hire a bike during summer 2016 at Thornes Park Athletics Stadium, Pugneys Country Park & Anglers Country Park for just £2 per hour! Bikes range from child balance bikes & trailers to adult size bikes.

Tour D’Thornes – Thornes Park Stadium are hosting a family cycling event with entry and intermediate level guided rides around the park on Wednesday 17th August 2016 from 10am.

Wakefield District Cycle Forum – Wakefield District Cycle Forum is a cycle campaign group, providing cycle information on cycle routes, off road cycle routes, cycle maps, cycle rides, health rides and the Trans Pennine trail. They deliver many lead rides throughout the Wakefield District. More information can be found: www.cycling-wakefield.org.uk

Sky Ride Locals & Ride Social – Sky Ride Local are rides guided by friendly Ride Leaders along scenic planned routes of differing levels.  All rides are free and everyone is welcome, whether you’re building your confidence or already comfortable on a bike and looking for a challenge. Ride Social is Britain’s biggest social cycling community, helping you find likeminded cyclists and ride together your way. More information can be found: www.goskyride.com/wakefield
