A job opportunity has arisen within our Youth Work Team for a Full Time Project Worker

Location: Crofton Young People’s Centre, High St, Crofton, Wakefield WF4 1NF

Salary: £24,799.00 to £26,999.00 (Grade 7)

Temporary until 31/08/2021

Wakefield Youth Work Team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Worker to support the delivery of an innovative multi activity programme for young people. The project funded with support from the Youth Endowment Fund involves an element of weekly detached street work and the delivery of a Social Emotional Learning programme in an identified school, building relationships with young people with a view to supporting these and other young people from different neighbourhoods across Wakefield to attend an outdoor activity week and a young people led social action project.

As a Project Worker you will be required to help recruit young people onto the outdoor and social action programme and support them through the programme. You will also be required to provide guidance and support to Support Workers involved in the delivery of the programme.

The successful candidate will need to have: Experience of delivering exciting and imaginative youth work provision Experience of working alongside community and voluntary sector organisations to provide activities for young people Effective communication skills A flexible approach to working is required. This post will involve evening and weekend work.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Application Form and to provide any criminal conviction information.
