It’s Yorkshire Day on Friday 1 August and Pontefract is the place to be!
There’s tonnes of activities and entertainment for all the family and delicious food to enjoy. Highlights include the dog show, flat cap and welly wanging, dancing displays, donkey rides, birds of prey and castle activities. But there’s loads more.

•Buttercross – Music Mix Bus, Castleford Tigers, Wakefield Wildcat dancers, cheerleaders
•Ropergate – Health Activation Zone, fashion show, flat cap throwing competition
•Gillygate – dog chipping, Ponte Pooch Show
•St Giles Church – cafe, art, bell ringing, organ concert
•Pontefract Museum – Heritage Walk 10, 11.30, 1.30
•Pontefract Castle – children’s activities, wattle and daub workshop, conservation tour
•Pontefract Library – story and rhyme 10, 11 and 2pm, craft sessions
•Friarwood Valley Gardens – birds of prey, reptiles, tree trail, welly wanging, rugby coaching
