Lions Skills for Adolescence Programme – Airedale Academy

The Wakefield Youth Work Team have been successful in gaining funding to deliver the Lions Skills for Adolescence Programme.

This year long project will allow Youth Workers to deliver a structured session each week for a whole year to 20 Year 7 students at Airedale Academy.   The sessions are around making informed decisions, resisting peer pressure and developing positive personal relationships. The international, evidence-based programme also encourages young people aged 8-14 year olds to deal responsibly with drugs and alcohol.

This project will also engage with parents and carers.

Youth Workers Keely, Jo and Kelly are attending training with Ambition before working with the Heads of Year 7 starting in October.
