The Youth Work Team 2015

As we move towards our Christmas break and the end of this year we thought it would be a nice idea to take a look back at all the amazing things the team and our young people have achieved in 2015!

We have a new team of staff looking after our Duke of Edinburgh Open Award Scheme, led by John Millington. The new participants are beginning their DofE journey while others celebrated their success at the award ceremony in September.

We had many fabulous cohorts of NCS participants this year! All overcoming difficult challenges on the residential, entertaining us with their cabaret performances and working hard to help the community in different ways. We finished with a fantastic graduation ceremony and disco!

Our UK Youth Parliament members took a trip to London and spoke in a debate at The House of Commons!

Our SEND groups had lots of fun at Crofton and Platform One, while our Young Carers Group took off at The Hut and members of our LGBTQ group told their individual stories at our Youth Service Stakeholder Event!

Our Detached teams have been hard at work out on the streets around the district working with young people, taking them hot drinks and teaching them some valuable lessons.

Overload Festival 2015 was a massive success with young people coming from across the district to see their favourite local artists and to enjoy the fun of the fayre!

We’ve had so many more fun times over the year including  The Tour de Yorkshire, Branching Out, Mischief Night, Takeover Day and the search for our cheeky elf Harry!

And of course our staff and volunteers have loved taking part in all of it!

From all of us at The Youth Work Team, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
