Alyssia Ellen Antonen

Hi, my name is Alyssia Antonen, and I’d love it if you’d vote for me to become your Youth Parliament representative.

You may be wondering why, and the reason I think that I am the best person for the job is because not only am I motivated, confident, organised and enthusiastic, but I can promise to only ever represent the young people of Wakefield in the best possible way.

There are many issues which I want to change and could talk about, but one which I feel particularly strongly about is the rising university fees. Because everyone, rich or poor, should be able to achieve big dreams, big ambitions, and at the moment, for some students, that is not possible! If you made me MYP by voting for me, then I would like to campaign for cheaper university fees.

I would also like to campaign to introduce more interschool tournaments. I’m thinking debates, sports, and subject – based activities, and I think this would be beneficial as it would introduce you to other people outside of your school and because of the range of activities, it would appeal to everyone. I’m hoping to use this scheme to begin to get rid of negative youth stereotypes.

Please vote for me!
