We are inviting people to come along to the first ever Apprenticeship Hub Roadshow – to find out more about apprenticeship opportunities across the district.

During National Apprenticeship Week from 9-13 March, The Hub will be visiting town centres across the district offering a one stop shop for residents and businesses. It will provide careers advice and support for young people as well as giving them the opportunity to apply for apprenticeship vacancies at the roadshow. Businesses that want information about apprenticeships are also encouraged to come along to find out what support is available including funding options and the benefits that apprenticeships can bring.

Cllr Denise Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Skills said: “This roadshow will provide a range of information and guidance to both young people and also businesses who want to find out more about these valuable opportunities.

“Apprenticeships are becoming a popular choice amongst youngsters giving them the chance to earn a wage whilst they learn important skills and experience for the future.

“I encourage everybody to come along and find out more.”

To date 241 young people have secured apprenticeship opportunities through the Wakefield Apprenticeship Hub and over 400 young people have registered their interest in starting an apprenticeship this year.
