Volunteer Fair – 2 June

As part of National Volunteer Week, Wakefield Council will be holding a Volunteer Fair on Friday 2 June, 10am-3pm at the Elizabethan gallery (next to Trinity Walk) in Wakefield.

The fair offers the chance for you to learn about some of the ways you can volunteer and find out how to sign-up and get involved. Some of the opportunities include volunteering with:

  • Libraries and Information Service
  • Castles
  • Allotments
  • Emergency Planning
  • Parks & Countryside
  • Health Activators
  • Youth Support Workers

There are also a wide range of volunteer roles to look into with local charities and community groups.

Some current volunteers will attend the fair and will be more than happy to speak to you about their experiences of lending their time and skills to the local community.
