Wakefield Junior Chess Club

History

Wakefield Chess club is one of the oldest in England. It was founded in 1837 (the year Victoria was crowned Queen of England!).

We provide the chance for young people aged 5-18 in the Wakefield District to learn and play chess with coaching in a friendly environment.

If you enjoy playing strategic games then why not learn to play chess in a friendly and welcoming environment? Or if you already play, why not come and join this group of keen and interested youngsters and test your skill?

Collect free chess medals and badges or win trophies for chess competitions.
